Arizona

I had a long weekend because of MLK day so Kristen and I decided to take a road trip to visit Lacy in Gilbert, AZ. I left after work on Friday arriving in LA to pick Kristen up at 8:30 (had no traffic problems!) We started on the 6 hour drive to Phoenix and basically drove all night because we didn't end up getting to Lacy's door until 4am! We were tired, crabby and needing sleep but the drive was worth it!
The next day we got to see a wonderful friend of ours from college (Tom, who recently moved to AZ) we went for dinner and drinks and got to catch up and tell old stories. We spent all day Sunday sun tanning/swimming and the next morning before we took the loonnngggg trip home we hiked a mountain in Phoenix. Fun fun fun in the sun sun sun. :-)

Michigan for the Holidays

Jeff and I spent Christmas and New Years in Michigan with friends and family. Arriving in Michigan on the 23rd we spent one night at his families where we had Christmas eve and then we traveled 7 hours (which turned out to be 9 because of weather) to the U.P. where we spent Christmas with my family. We went to the Packer/Lions game at Lambeau where Jeff enjoyed another embarrassing loss (well he didn't enjoy it but the day was fun). Then we traveled back downstate for a wonderful Christmas party with Jeff's family where even more gifts and food were shared!  New Years was spent with friends over dinner and then we all went bowling.  The trip to Michigan was AMAZING and I can't wait to see everyone again!

Charlie

This page would not be complete without pictures of Charlie.
He is such a cheese for the camera!

We're Engaged!

Jeff and I are happy to announce we are getting married! He asked me on a wonderful winter day (December 27th) in Michigan. We had just gotten done making snowmen, one of me and one of him. My dad was taking our picture next to our finished works and Jeff said that mine was missing something...confused I checked over my snowwomen. As I looked over he got down on one knee and asked... and of course I said YES! We are planning an August 2010 wedding in Michigan. No place or date has been set in stone yet but more details are to come!
Our Song that Jeff and I fell in love with when we went to a Michael Buble concert last year. Plus it fits us perfectly!

Everything by Michael Buble
You're a falling star, you're the get away car.
You're the line in the sand when I go too far.
You're the swimming pool, on an August day.
And you're the perfect thing to say.

And you play it coy but it's kinda cute.
Ah, when you smile at me you know exactly what you do.
Baby don't pretend that you don't know it's true.
'cause you can see it when I look at you.

And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times
It's you, it's you, you make me sing.
You're every line, you're every word, you're everything.

You're a carousel, you're a wishing well,
And you light me up, when you ring my bell.
You're a mystery, you're from outer space,
You're every minute of my everyday.

And I can't believe, uh that I'm your man,
And I get to kiss you baby just because I can.
Whatever comes our way, ah we'll see it through,
And you know that's what our love can do.

Thanksgiving In Colorado

Just to catch up...Thanksgiving in Colorado was AMAZING! Jeff and I were invited to the yummiest Thanksgiving dinner at Nick and Natalie's (friends of Jeff's). Everyone brought something to pass but Nick and Natalie did most of the work, the table settings were beautiful and the turkey was juicy! Of course Jeff and I slaved over a hot stove all morning making rolls and Jeff's secret dip. Nahhh just kidding, we bought rolls and jalapeno dip from Costco...so classy! After stuffing our faces we played scattergories and tried to laugh off what we just ate.
Another highlight of the trip was ice skating with Lisa and Matt (also Jeff's friends). Lisa scored us free passes and skate rentals, thanks again Lisa!  Jeff decided he wanted to rent figure skates after he found out they were easier to put on than hockey skates (not sure how accurate that is) I think he had more confidence with the toe pick! Jeff and I had mini competitions to decide who was more skilled on the ice. I impressed him with my spinning while he impressed me with his arabesques. Such a man in his figure skates.

I'm a blogger

I've been inspired to start blogging. I've always been someone who likes sharing my thoughts, travels and stories with people so blogging seems to be the best way to do it. Now that I live across the country from my family in Michigan this may be a great way to keep everyone updated. Not that I'm super interesting but you're family, so you at least have to pretend to be interested in my life :-).
